I'm just saying that, of necessity, if you have already discarded a supernatural intervention for life, then you must advocate for abiogeneis. Unless you propose "sporing", which would involve aliens and such. Ultimately it boils down to if you believe life can form on its own, or it can't.
In quest for a proper answer in nature, beliefs or strong beliefs, are null and not needed in science. what matters is evidence and what it most probbably imply. Infact, new fields of study in science such as Abiogenesis, string theory, ect... thier findings are probitionary in nature & are finely educated guesses until more observation, validation & test gives it more credit (or discredit). Science has the habbit of increasing the precision of its theories in time. there is no area for beliefs, faith & ultimate truths.

In fact, he goes on to cite those scientists that disproved spontaneous generation and says no scientists today use spontaneous generation as an argument. Well, wtf is abiogenesis then, if not but a decorated version of spontaneous generation?
He was citing the frequently used argument by creationist, the old anitquated experiments. he later shows the more updated view.

The other problem is that God reveals himself in the modern world to those he chooses to, so some of us have direct interaction and evidence of not just a god, but the God of the Bible.
Didn't God said that he wants all people to be saved? that he is the God of justice and fairness? why just favor few people to annouce is purpose while rejecting people demanding evidence and reason?

HC: Well you know, if I was to go to the toilet, how did we evolve with the ability to release waste? If we were waiting millions of years for certain organs to evolve. That is a simple question but I am a simple man.

Yep, that part was hilarious. also the part where RD sees the son-sacrificing idea as hideous.
On the other hand i like how this debate ended, both men were shows great respect & civilized.

Dawkins is a very gracious man, he is confronted with pure stupidity and keeps both his and the idiot interviewer's dignity with his answers.

i didn't actually know that Howard Conder was an ex JW until you pointed out in wiki. that's interesting.
However, i found it appaling that very religious famous persons have very little awareness of some basic scientific findings such as the evolution of the eye and how we develope waste disposal systems. :)
It seems that very religious people have very dull analytic & common sense skills to see that a God needs to kill his own son to forgive others. whats making it worse, the bible advocates forgiveness as a virtue, yet at the same time extolls a God that cannot forgive unless someone dies for it. Its some sort of mad thinking.
Also, i think if adam was sentenced to death at the time he & his wife ate the fruit, then the payment was satisfied for Gods' justice. why kill another person? why God credited the sin to his offspring?
If sin can be passed through dna, why can't an all powerful magic God correct the genetic "defect"?
As time passess by, the more i think, the more it seems apparent that a magic God in the heavens looks astonishingly stupid idea to based our belief system much more to dedicate our entire life to such belief.

in watchtower teaching, what were the "anointed remnant" doing between the death of the apostle john and the coming of pastor russell?.

during all those centuries, there was no visible organization publishing watchtower literature so as to enable people to understand the bible.

there was no organized worldwide door-to-door preaching work being done (who assigned territories and kept track of time records, for example?).

well, witnesses think that the wheat class survived during those poriods. However, they are vague as to thier identity and the work they were doing.
However, i think this is just another superstition or speculation they invented. we can't prove it nor disprove such claims.
